Lillian Coles Bloch was born in Brawley, CA. to Arthur Coles and Delia Pemberton Coles. Following her brother‚s death in 1918, the family moved to St. Louis, MO where she studied and played the piano and organ. She was a board member of the Little Symphony of St. Louis for 18 years. She met her husband, Hans George Bloch, there. She helped him start and grow his advertising and marketing company. They had two sons, Roy Stephen and Ronald Martin.. In the 1960‚s, she attended college and earned her Bachelors at Avila College and Masters in Social Work at Kansas University while working full-time at Ozanam Boys Home. She practiced Psychotherapy in Kansas City and Flint MI.In 1983, she moved to the Boston area to be close and supportive to Ron and his two children. She became very active in the Christian Science Church as a Librarian, Reader, Volunteer, and worked and retired in 2002 from the Chestnut Hill Benevolent Association and Daystar Assisted Living where she was Assistant Director. Her travels took her to the Caribbean, South America, Hawaii, Panama, the Holy Land and across the states.She is remembered as a loving, caring, kind, generous, strong and JOYOUS person; an avid reader; church organ and piano player; and always learning, including taking organ and Tai-Chi lessons last year.
